breakup Your Favorite Thing Today: Watch a Couple Break Up Using Only Movie Titles

What would life be like if we all spoke in a language that included nothing but movie titles? Eerily, not unlike reality. New York-based Internet comedy troupe POYKPAC Comedy has imagined a skit in which a couple goes to dinner, has a spat about their relationship, and then breaks up. At least we think so. A waitress intervenes and has something to say to the couple, which puts everyone in their place. The whole bit uses 154 movie titles to compose the dialogue between actors, and it’s an impressive feat to watch unravel.

Writer-director-editor Ryan Hunter also gives us the movie posters to peek at while the conversation is happening, which is a nice visual reference that underlines just how creative the script really is. The language of love is hard to interpret sometimes, but maybe it’d be easier if we all relied on the movies to be our guide.
