Lacefronts in Technicolor: Creole Queen Beyonce is headed to the racks of your local comic book retailer!
The “Listen” songstress joins the ranks of Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and even ditzy politico Sarah Palin as the latest high-profile celeb to have her life story told on the pages of a 32-page biographical comic book from Bluewater Productions. Fame: Beyonce follows the sexy Texan from the days of her youth in Houston to her early success with Grammy-winning girl group Destiny’s Child and her debut as a solo artist in 2004. Readers will also get a glimpse into Beyonce’s world as an international pop star and one-half of music’s reigning power couple — Hov & Bey.
It’s a storied tale that proved challenging for Bluewater bosses.
“Getting to dive into her story and piece together her life was exciting,” says CW Cooke — who penned the book, which features illustrations by artist Alex Lopez. “She’s accomplished so much in so little time. She’s had so many ups and so few downs. Telling her story wasn’t so much of a roller coaster, but more of an exciting elevator ride.”
The graphic book will retail for $3.99 when it hits comic shops in Jan. 2011.
