‘Castle’: ABC adds an extra season 5 episode and posts photos from the meeting with Rick’s dad

“Castle” has a lot coming for the rest of season 5. Now, fortunately, there will be plenty of time to tell those stories — ABC has added an extra episode to the current season. In one of those episodes, Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) will meet his long-lost father.

With the extra episode, the full “Castle” Season 5 season will have 24 episodes in total.

We will meet Castle’s father before that though. Until season 4, it was assumed that we would never meet the man. After all, even Castle’s mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan), didn’t know the name of the man who fathered Rick.

But someone in the CIA did. Who could the father of Richard Castle be?

We do know that the man will be played by Emmy-winner James Brolin. And we know that daddy is a man of mystery. Should we be surprised that meeting him involves men with guns?

However Castle got himself into this situation, he obviously needs help to get out of it. That help comes soon.
