‘Gossip Girl’: Let the chaos begin

Gossip Girl” on Monday (Nov. 14) was all about Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) and her ability to get whatever she wants. She wants to keep Nate under her thumb, she does it. She wants to make Ivy/Charlie’s life miserable, she does it. She wants to take down Gossip Girl, she’s well on her way to getting that too.

[Spoiler Alert]

Diana’s, shall we call it extortion of Ivy/Charlie, is full steam ahead. It plays itself out with an interesting connect four of I/C (Kaylee DeFer), Nate (Chace Crawford), Serena (Blake Lively) and Max in a scene right out of “Eyes Wide Shut.”

Now the fun part of this whole love rhombus is Diana has no interest in the lives of any of these people, not even her boy-toy Nate. Her only goal is to build up the NY Spectator while bringing down Gossip Girl. These wee lads are pawns in helping her do so. But can her scheming ways last forever? And who might try to bring her down?

Then there’s Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester). Blair’s confused after Chuck offered a litany of things he’s sorry for as it pertains to their relationship. She’s convinced he’s got an agenda for his turning the page on his scandalous past.

“I simply cannot have Chuck…Chucking…with my head,” she says.

But the reality is Chuck is simply trying to fix his chaotic life. It’s just not as easy as it sounds.

“Being decent is more of a struggle than I thought,” he says.

Will he ever get there? Or what about Blair. And will they get there together?

Uh oh. Uh oh.
