The Indian cinema will soon witness a movie on the life of a famous 19-year-old Indian music band, Indian Ocean for the very first time in its history. However, the movie is releasing after the death of the legendary vocalist Asheem Chakravarty.
Jaideep Varma began to direct this movie in 2006 titled as Leaving Home — The Life and Music of Indian Ocean. He believes that the film shows the India’s greatest musical entities since Independence.
He said, “On a personal level, Indian Ocean makes me more proud of being Indian than any other entity, today. It has led me to the surprising realization that their music shows no signs of dating.”
The film is the documentary about the lives of the four band members, Sushmit Sen (guitar, vocals), Rahul Ram (bass guitar, vocals), Amit Kilam (drums, other percussions) and Asheem Chakravarty (tabla, other percussions and vocals).
