Is ‘American Horror Story’ going back to the ‘Asylum’?
One of the details we learned about the new season of “American Horror Story” is that there will be no announcement regarding the theme this time around. Yes, that’s correct. Fans far and wide will just need to wait until Season 6 premieres on FX in September. That may be a tough pill to swallow but this hasn’t slowed down the rumor mill as to what these new episodes will be about.
Previously, we predicted an Antichrist theme and after visiting San Diego Comic-Con, there are a few more details that make us suspect we may be onto something. While Ryan Murphy and the gang were not in town for the event, FX did appeal to the fans with their FXibition Installation outside the convention center.

If you were there, and took part in the “AHS” VR experience, you may have noticed a few details pointing to the new season’s story. Take into consideration the below prop of The White Nun. While there was representation for the genre show, this seems to be the only real prop from the series on display. Could it simply be a coincidence, or is FX giving us a hint that Season 6 will take us back to the “Asylum”?
It’s common knowledge now that each season is connected. There’s a greater “American Horror Story” universe at hand and if the show is following the Dante’s Inferno theory, that’d be quite the intriguing thing to watch play out as a whole. We already know Season 6 will take place during two time periods and this detail brings us to the second “AHS” item from Comic-Con: the Virtual Reality experience.
Take a look at the video clip below. It’s footage taken from the VR part of the installation and there are a few hints here that may be leading us to a clearer picture.
There’s not a lot that can be taken away from this on first glance, and the footage may even look reminiscent of the “Silent Hill” or “Resident Evil” video games, but take a look at those jars on the shelf. Not only is it obvious that we’re in an old, dingy hospital room, but those jars lead us to a bigger assumption: This facility does abortions.
Putting babies in jars seems like something that’d be done when illegal abortions are being performed. And if this hospital room is located in Briarcliff, that type of behavior is to be expected … right?
If we’re onto something here with the abortion angle, it may very well go hand-in-hand with our Antichrist theory. There was a “Rosemary’s Baby” angle explored throughout “Murder House.” Plus, who can forget The Countess (Lady Gaga) and her efforts to abort young Bartholomew in “Hotel”?

There’s an ongoing theme here involving the innocence of children that Murphy has previously acknowledged and it feels more and more like we’re heading to a “The Omen” meets “Rosemary’s Baby” theme moving forward. We’d like to think we’re correct in our assertions, but at this point, we’re all just playing the guessing game.
Hopefully our questions will be answered when “American Horror Story” Season 6 premieres on September, 14 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
