Jared Padalecki will watch the ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival early, and we’re super jealous
We’re hungry for news about the upcoming “Gilmore Girls” revival, so when Zap2it caught up with Jared Padalecki at Comic-Con, we couldn’t resist asking him about his role in the series.
Unfortunately, the filming for “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” coincided with “Supernatural” filming so Padalecki wasn’t available to play a big part in the revival. He admits he only filmed for one day, which makes us think that his character Dean is probably only making a short cameo for one or two scenes.

Most likely, “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” will pay tribute to Dean Forester by reuniting him for a quick scene with Rory (Alexis Bledel), which could be very bittersweet. Even if we don’t get a lot of new material from that couple, it would be nice to see those two meet up 10 years down the road without all the cheating and heartbreak weighing down the reunion.
Hopefully these two formerly star-crossed lovers can meet again as friends, and we can figure out what Dean has been up to since he left “Gilmore Girls.”
This new will no doubt disappoint Dean fans, but we’re actually more interested in the news that Padalecki will be seeing the episode he’s featured in soon.

According to Padalecki, he’ll be watching the episode on August 1st, meaning that a rough cut of the first installment, “Winter,” could be ready to go sooner than expected.
While it obviously makes the most sense to release “Winter” in the winter, a November release date wouldn’t be out of the question at this stage in the game.
Regardless, we’re totally going to call Padalecki up on August 2nd — as suggested — to ask for spoilers.
