Jessica Alba: Safe Chemicals Act in Washington, D.C.

Jessica Alba is all smiles as she attends a press conference for the Safe Chemicals Act on Tuesday (May 24) in Washington, D.C.

The 30-year-old actress and proud mama was joined by U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg to introduce the act, which would overhaul the way the federal government protects the public from toxic chemicals.

“Four years ago I became pregnant for the first time, and as I’m sure any mother would agree, it immediately changes the way you look at things,” Jess said at a press conference. “[You] avoid anything that can be harmful to your child, particularly pesticides, alcohol, tobacco, the stuff that we’re all aware of. Thankfully my daughter Honor was born healthy and I wanted to provide the healthiest environment for her at home.”

FYI: Jess is wearing a “Penelope” black lace skirt by Jane Oh with an Ann Taylor blazer, a Kimberly Ovitz camisole, and Elie Saab shoes.
