On Thursday Mercedes-Benz introduced its new technology, Charge Gasoline Injection (CGI) based car C200 CGI in India. This latest technology enables to use sophisticated petrol direct-Injection engine with spray guided with combustion process.

“The CGI technology heralds a new era in gasoline engines with improved output, optimized consumption and even more impressive emission statistics,” said Bharat Balasubramanian, VP of Product Innovation and Process Technologies, Daimler AG at the launch event.

Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, MD and CEO Mercedes-Benz India said, “The C Class is in most cases the first touch point of customers with our brand. Mercedes-Benz stands for exciting products and cutting edge technologies; what better way to reinforce this promise than by offering the C200 CGI as the harbinger of the CGI revolution in gasoline engines”

CGI engines can run with high excess air offering better fuel efficiency. These engines include nozzles that open outwards for creating an annular gap only few microns wider that shapes the fuel jet and produce a uniform, hollow cone shaped spray pattern.

The new CGI C200 is available in India at the price of Rs. 28.98 lacs.
