The Samsung Galaxy S was showcased by Samsung this spring. It was claimed as a super Android smartphone that is able to compete with the HTC EVO 4G, the iPhone 4 as well as different versions of Droids. This summer the mobile device will appear in the U.S. and it will be offered by four major U.S. carriers.

When I first took the handset I was amazed by its size as well as light weight. You will be surprised but its design looks very much the same as the iPhone 3GS’s. It measures 0.39-inches thick and weighs 4.2 ounces.
The Galaxy S is equipped with a super ALMOLED screen. The display measures 4 inches that is larger than the iPhone’s display but at the same time smaller than the Motorola Droid X’s and HTC EVO 4G.

The cell phone is based on Android 2.1 and integrates TouchWiz 3.0 user interface developed by Samsung. In fact, this version of TouchWiz is better compared to the Samsung Behold II created for T-Mobile.
The Galaxy S comes with a 5-megapixel. Honestly, I was not so impressed by its photo quality. I would score it as “Fair.”
