House sings the blues!
On Monday, Hugh Laurie and Warner Music Group announced that they have inked a deal to release an album of New Orleans-inspired blues, featuring the vocals of the five-time Emmy nominee.
The British actor, who plays grumpy MD Dr. Gregory House on the hit FOX medical drama, will team up with a host of guest musicians for his inaugural album. The album is to be produced by Grammy winner Joe Henry, who has also worked with Ani Di Franco, Elvis Costello, and Loudon Wainwright III.
Laurie, who is a self-taught musician, is ecstatic about the venture and can hardly wait to hit the studio.
“I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity,” Laurie said in a statement. “I know the history of actors making music is a checkered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favorite records of all time, and I can’t wait to get started.”
