AMC is not renewing its conspiracy drama Rubicon for a second season.
The series — featuring Jessica Collins, Miranda Richardson, Dallas Roberts, Christopher Evan Welch, Michael Cristofer, and Peter Gerety — starred James Badge Dale as intelligence analyst Will Travers. It attracted a season average of 1.2 million viewers after its premiere Aug. 1 — a figure quickly surpassed by the debut of AMC’s new zombie drama The Walking Dead, which attracted 5.3 million viewers and set a network record when it aired on Oct. 31.
“‘Rubicon’ gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story, and we’re proud of the series. This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a phenomenally talented and dedicated team,” the network said in a statement Thursday.
The final episode of Rubicon aired on Oct. 17.
