The King’s Speech has emerged as one of the front-runners this year with a total of seven nominations — , including Best Drama and acting honors for Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, and Geoffrey Rush — as Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel, and Blair Underwood appeared to present this year’s list of nominees.
Other Best Drama nominees Tuesday were the psycho-sexual dance thriller Black Swan, the boxing saga The Fighter, the sci-fi blockbuster Inception, and the Facebook chronicle The Social Network. Tim Burton’s adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s fantasy Alice in Wonderland, the song-and-dance extravaganza Burlesque, the lesbian-family tale The Kids Are All Right, the action tale Red, and the romantic thriller The Tourist led the field for Best Picture Comedy/Musical.
Glee leads Golden Globe TV noms with five nods.
Robert De Niro, an eight-time Globe nominee who won a Best Actor prize for Raging Bull, will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Comedian Ricky Gervais returns as host of the 68th ceremony, airing live on NBC Jan. 16.
