ABC gives ‘Last Resort’ and ‘666 Park Avenue’ two-script orders
While not a full-season pick-up, the order reassures showrunners that they won’t be joining the ranks of early cancelations like “Animal Practice” and “Made in Jersey.”
“Last Resort,” starring the inimitable Andre Braugher as the captain of a renegade nuclear submarine, has averaged 7.8 million viewers and an adults 18-49 demo rating of 1.9 in its Thursday-night time slot.
Sunday night’s spooky “666 Park Avenue,” led by “Lost’s” Terry O’Quinn, has averaged 5.6 million viewers per week.
Today’s signs of faith come on the heels of ABC’s three-script order for the critically disparaged comedy “The Neighbors.”
“Just got a call from ABC,”co-creator Shawn Ryan tweeted Friday afternoon. “Additional scripts ordered for #LastResort. Onward and upward.”
