Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, perhaps the first Indian actor to receive a made-to-order Tramezza shoe from Italian luxury label Salvatore Ferragamo, says he was excited to see a Lord Ganesh idol placed at the entrance of Ferragamo house in Italy.
“Had a wonderful evening. Went to the Ferragamo show and then dinner with the Ferragamo family. The highlight? Being greeted by a Ganesh JI murti at the entrance of their house, felt so good and proud!,” Abhishek posted on his Twitter page Monday.
“They have a great love for India and all things Indian. It always feels nice when people show admiration and love towards another culture and country, especially when that country is yours!” he added.
The actor was invited as a special guest at Palazzo Spini Feroni, the headquarters of Salvatore Ferragamo, for a welcome lunch with the Ferragamo family, followed by a personalised tour of the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum. He was also invited to the Milan Men’s Fashion Week, which he attended Sunday.
Now Abhishek will be heading to Florence, which he says is “one of my favourite cities”.
Abhishek, son of Indian megastar Amitabh Bachchan, will be interacting with expert shoemakers who will measure his feet, and later he would also meet with Ferragamo’s shoe designers who will create a customised shoe in line with Abhishek’s distinct tastes and requests.
