Have no fear, Music Fans: Pianist/vocalist extraordinaire Alicia Keys has not checked out of the land of the living.

Not yet anyway.

Tomorrow, Dec. 1, is World’s AIDS Day and the multi-awarded Keys will remember the approximately 25 million people who have fallen to HIV/AIDS over the past 28 years by going “digitally dead.”

More about that after the jump…

Keys, along with a host of fellow celebs including Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Khloe Kardashian, Jay Sean, Swizz Beatz, Serena Williams, The Buried Life, Elijah Wood, Janelle Monae and, David LaChapelle, will “end their digital lives” by signing off from all social networking platforms — including Twitter and Facebook — to raise funds for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. The stars are turning their backs on social networking as part of the “Digital Life Sacrifice” campaign. The money is being raised in aid of the “Keep a Child Alive” charity, which help families impacted by the disease.

Keys, Kardashian, and the rest of the participants have already videotaped their “Last Tweet and Testament,” a series of advertisments showcasing the stars lying down in coffins as part of their “digital deaths.”

“People might feel funny about the coffin images. But thats the point! We r digitally dying so real people who r actually dying don’t have 2,” Alicia told her Twitter followers in a post on Tuesday.

Fans can rest easy. The stars are not signing off for good. Everyone will return to Tweeting and Facebook after the campaign manages to raise $1 million.
