‘American Horror Story’ hasn’t seen the last of Billie Dean Howard
It’s of no surprise that Sarah Paulson will be returning to “American Horror Story” this fall. The actress confirmed her return to the genre favorite at Tuesday’s (Aug. 9) TCA panel.
While Paulson has Ryan Murphy and FX to thank for her recent successes — she completely deserves that Emmy nom for “People v. O.J. Simpson” — there’s not much detail backing up the character she will be playing this time around.
Actually, there’s not a lot of info backing up anything regarding Season 6 as FX recently released a bunch of misleading promos. Yet, if those leaked set photos are a clue, it’s a high probability we’ll be seeing more of Paulson’s psychic character Billie Dean Howard.

Paulson first appeared in “American Horror Story: Murder House” as Howard, a psychic hired by Constance (Jessica Lange) to communicate with the spirits in the house. It’s the Season 1 episode, titled “Birth,” where Howard referenced a “successful exorcism” which took place at The Roanoke Colony of 1590.
With the “CROATOAN” image that TMZ recently released — along with the colonial theme the pics gave off — it’s widely believed that Season 6 will be about The Lost Colony of Roanoke. And if that’s the case, what better way to bring things back full circle than to have another appearance of Ms. Howard?
The last time we saw Billie Dean, she was running scared from the Hotel Cortez. With so many ghostly run-ins under her belt, it’d only make sense to take a trip back to that “Murder House” conversation to really kick this “CROATOAN” mystery off right.
“American Horror Story” Season 6 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
