Mani Ratnam’s Raavan has not done well in the northern part of the country while it is a huge hit in the South. But Amitabh Bachchan is not happy with the way Abhishek Bachchan’s character was handled on the editing table. He is upset with the editing of the character.
Amitabh wrote on his twitter account that many important scenes of Abhishek’s character Beera were chopped off and it created confusion among the audiences. He wrote that all the visual heads were cut. What you see is a confused Beera with his expression. He was peeved that sad edition of the character has ruined the film and the role of Abhishek.
On the other side, the hero of the Tamil version of Raavan, Vikram as well as Santosh Sivan has defended Mani Ratnam. Santosh has said that everyone is entitled to an opinion. It is the director’s film and he calls the shot. He said that Mani Sir has a different viewpoint than Mr. Bachchan. He said that the same film is a huge hit in the South.
Vikram also has expressed his praise for the film. He has personally campaigning for the film in the South. He says that the film is rocking in the Southern box office and it proves that the audience is the king and their judgment is what counts the most.
