Amy Winehouse is charting a return to the music world for the first time since her Grammy-winning album Back to Black became an international bestseller three years ago.
Winehouse, 27, is set to hit the Brazilian stage with “Tightrope” star Janelle Monae early next year for her first full live shows since 2008, when she was forced to pull the plug on several high-profile gigs due to illness, the UK songstress announced on her website Wednesday.
“Amy will be joined at the three Summer Soul Festival shows by Mayer Hawthorne and Janelle Monae, with support at the Rio de Janeiro show also coming from Janelle Monae,” the website read.
Winehouse will play three dates for Brazil’s Summer Soul Festival — Jan. 8 in Florianopolis, Jan. 13 in Recife, and Jan. 15 in Sao Paulo — with a January 11 gig at the Arena HSBC in Rio de Janerio in between.
She’ll be joined by Monae.
Tickets for all four shows will go on sale Monday at www.livepass.com.br.
