Anna Paquin Kristen Bell “Scream 4″ Cameo

Newlywed True Blood star Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell — whose acting credits include turns on Veronica Mars and Heroes — have been tapped to make cameo appearances in Wes Craven’s slasher sequel Scream 4, currently shooting in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA TODAY said this week.

The duo’s roles have not been revealed, although it has been speculated that in the tradition of previous Scream outings, they will be killed off in the opening minutes. Those in the know say the cameos are in similar nature to that of Drew Barrymore’s in the original Scream. The 1996 horror flick opened with an electrifying sequence of Barrymore forced to play a phone game with the killer. Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps died in the Scream 2 intro and Liev Schreiber, Kelly Rutherford and Jenny McCarthy were whacked at the beginning of Scream 3.

Scream 4 — featuring original castmembers Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette, and newcomers Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, and Rory Culkin — is set to open in theaters April 15, 2011.
