Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar rode a road roller to promote his new film ”Khatta Meetha” in Mumbai.
Kumar arrived on a road roller at the venue, dressed as ”Sachin Tichkule”, a character in the film who is a corrupt road contractor.
“Well it is about corruption, it is about corruption at the lower level. We talk about how at the lower level it is and that is what my character is also and how I am a simple common man who gets lured in corruption, who has to pay money to get his work also done. And I am sure everybody knows that how corruption works. So it is basically a political satire,” said Kumar.
He plays the lead role and is paired opposite south Indian actress Trisha Krishnan, who makes her debut in Bollywood with this film.
“Trisha, it was a great experience. I mean she is not new, she has done so many films in …she is a huge superstar in south. So it was not that the first time she was facing the camera but she is excellent. She is experienced and she has done a good job,” said Kumar.
The film is a remake of the Malyalam film ”Vellanakalude Nadu”, which was also made by film director Priyadarshan.
The film ”Khatta Meetha” is scheduled for release on July 30
