Brad Pitt Spotted for the First Time Following Angelina Jolie Divorce
Brad Pitt has stepped out in public for the first time following his divorce from Angelina Jolie.
The actor attended a private screening of the upcoming and highly-acclaimed film Moonlight, for which his production company, Plan B, is listed as one of the executive producers. The event was held in Los Angeles, and he was joined by close pal, Julia Roberts. The pair hugged and smiled for several photos before the event.
The outing marks the first time Pitt has been photographed following the announcement of his divorce from Jolie in September.
The main concern following the split has been their six children: Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8. In fact, on Monday, news broke that the pair had reached a custody agreement.
E! News confirmed their children will remain in Jolie’s custody—they are currently living with her at her home in Malibu— while Pitt will continue to see visitations in conjunction with a therapist.
The custody news comes a few days after the actor filed for joint custody of the their children last week—a response to Jolie asking for sole custody in the divorce.
Meanwhile, the actor has been under investigation in recent weeks over a mid-air altercation on a private aircraft in mid-September with their eldest son, Maddox. The alleged incident led to an anonymous call being placed with the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services over claims Pitt had been physically and verbally abusive towards Maddox.
At the time, a source close to the actor told E! News he “did not commit any abuse of his children” and has been “cooperating fully” to do what’s in the best interest of his children.
Brad has seen his kids twice since the investigation began, but only saw Maddox for the first time just recently. According to a source, the teen was “mad at his dad” before they finally came together during a therapy session.
Another insider told us the actor has been eager to continue seeing the kids and “work out an arrangement that is best for them; he wants to work things out privately and amicably.”
We also learned Jolie doesn’t intend for the current custody situation to remain permanent. We’re told she only believes it’s what’s necessary right now and knows she and Pitt will eventually need to co-parent together in the future.
