Bruce Lee’s daughter tells Quentin Tarantino to “shut up”


Quentin Tarantino’s newest movie of the 9 he has made to date (and in addition possibly his final) hasn’t had a totally clean trip to this point – Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has undoubtedly been hit with greater than a little bit controversy.

One of the criticisms of the movie has centered on Tarantino’s portrayal of Bruce Lee, after Lee’s household argued that the movie handled him in the same solution to “white Hollywood” when the legendary actor and martial artist’s profession first took off.

Tarantino has since defended his depiction, calling Bruce “kind of an arrogant guy”.

“The way he was talking, I didn’t just make a lot of that up,” Tarantino mentioned of actor Mike Moh’s portrayal. “I heard him say things like that, to that effect. If people are saying, ‘Well he never said he could beat up Muhammad Ali,’ well yeah, he did.”

Bruce’s daughter Shannon has now spoken out in regards to the director’s feedback, advising Tarantino to “shut up” about it.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Shannon mentioned: “He may shut up about it. That could be very nice.

“Or he may apologise, or he may say, ‘I do not actually know what Bruce Lee was like. I simply wrote it for my film. But that should not be taken as how he actually was.'”

She continued: “[Tarantino] can painting Bruce Lee nevertheless he needed to, and he did. But it is a little bit disingenuous for him to say, ‘Well, that is how he was, however this can be a fictional film, so don’t be concerned an excessive amount of about it.'”

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is out now in US cinemas and is launched in UK cinemas on August 14.
