Verdict: Rent Me (If in need of a wholesome family film) Available On: 3D BD, BD Combo Pack, BD-Only, DVD Additional Thoughts:Dolphin Tale is a great Saturday morning movie; the kind your kids can pop in and be delighted by and that isn’t nearly as obnoxious or scatterbrained as most kid’s movies these days.
Midnight in Paris (Sony) Release Date: May 20, 2011 Rated: PG-13 for some sexual references and smoking Runtime: 1 hr. 34 min. Genres: Comedy, Romance Director:Woody Allen Cast:Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams,Kathy Bates, Carla Bruni. Full cast + crew
Verdict: Buy Me (If you love films about literary icons) Available On: Blu-ray, DVD Additional Thoughts: A favorite among critics and the art house crowd, Midnight in Paris may be a bit too repetitive for some, but if you’re even passingly familiar with its historical icons and the incredible cast that plays them, you’ll have a wonderful time with the film.
Warrior (Lionsgate) Release Date: Sep 09, 2011 Rated: PG-13 for sequences of intense mixed martial arts fighting, some language and thematic material Runtime: 2 hr. 19 min. Genres: Action/Adventure Director:Gavin O’Connor Cast:Joel Edgerton, Tom Hardy, Jennifer Morrison, Frank Grillo, Nick Nolte. Full cast + crew
Verdict: Buy Me (If you like emotional sports movies) Available On: Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD Additional Thoughts: It’s a shame that Warrior didn’t live a longer life in theaters, so hopefully it finds its legs on home video. This is an unapologetic sports movie, and it’s a remarkable one at that, but even if you don’t care about MMA, it’s easy to fall for the characters and cast.
