Carey Mulligan’s Weinstein Investigation Film Gets 2022
Universal Pictures has set a launch date for “She Said,” the movie concerning the Harvey Weinstein investigation starring Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan. The movie will hit theaters on November 18, 2022, the studio introduced Thursday.
Mulligan and Kazan star in “She Said” as New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who broke the Weinstein scandal and helped usher within the #MeToo motion.
“Unorthodox” director Maria Schrader will direct. Rebecca Lenkiewicz is writing the script. The movie will likely be based mostly on the New York Times bestseller “She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement.” It will start manufacturing this summer time.
“She Said” will mark Kazan and Mulligan’s third collaboration, though that is the primary time they are going to star seem display collectively. The duo beforehand starred in Ian Rickson’s Broadway manufacturing of “The Seagull” in 2008, and Mulligan starred within the 2018 movie “Wildlife,” which Kazan co-wrote and produced.
Annapurna Pictures and Plan B optioned the rights to “She Said” in 2018 beneath their manufacturing deal. Megan Ellison will government produce for Annapurna with Sue Naegle, whereas Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will produce for Plan B.
