Carnie Wilson was in for a rude awakening after she tried to have her cheesecake and eat it too while working as a pitchwoman for a food-delivery service.

The former host of The Newlywed Game has lost another lucrative gig — the time as the face and body of The Fresh Diet — after company officials caught the Wilson-Phillips singer scarfing down the calorie-packed desserts she hawks through her cheesecake company.

“Carnie was promoting her cheesecakes when she was supposed to be only eating or three meals and two snacks a day,” says Ezzy Duchman, a publicist for Fresh Diet, a diet delivery company that delivers a days worth of gourmet, portion controlled meals and snacks to your door fresh daily.

“We had to take her off the corporate website because she has not been a successful case. She didn’t stick to it, and she didn’t lose weight. We had to cut ties with her.”

It is no secret that Carnie’s had a very public struggle with her weight that dates back to the late ’80s. She even underwent gastric bypass surgery 1999. The surgery helped Wilson go from a scale-tipping 300 down to 150, but gained some of the weight back after giving birth twice over the past decade, gaining 50 pounds each time. According to The Fresh Diet, Carnie did manage to lose 19 pounds on the plan efore starting her cheesecake company, but soon gained it all back and more. The diet plan supplies women with a daily average of 1200 to 1300 calories.

In January, the “Hold On” crooner appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, where she admitted that she is a compulsive overeater. (Well thank you, Captain Obvious…)

“The fact that he had labeled me morbidly obese really shocked me,” Carnie said at the time time. “I was actually in shock because I just had blood work done. All that blood work came back normal. To this day I am not pre-diabetic. If he wants to call me that, it’s fine, but my glucose levels are at a normal range.”

Fresh Diet CEO Zalmi Duchman wishes he’d been better versed on Carnie’s struggles with food before inking a deal to have her represent his company.

“It seemed that she was eating more food than just our meals. We always saw her baking on her reality show [Carnie Wilson: Unstapled on the Game Show Network],” Zalmi explains matter-of-factly. “We believe she wasn’t sticking to the plan and she wasn’t losing weight. If you’re baking cheesecake and selling it, then you can’t promote a diet company.”
