Honeymoon’s over for Carnie Wilson — the Wilson-Phillips singer is bowing out as host of Game Show Network’s (GSN) The Newlywed Game after two seasons at the show’s helm.
“Carnie Wilson has been a member of the GSN family for the last two years,” GSN said in statement announcing Wilson’s departure on Thursday. “She will be pursuing other opportunities and we wish her the very best in all her endeavors.”
The Newlywed Game is scheduled to return for a fourth season this fall. A new host will be announced soon, the network says. (Maybe Heidi Montag’s available?)
No word on the fate of Carnie’s other Game Show Network gig — GSN’s lone docu-soap Carnie Wilson: Unstapled. The show premiered in January and shadows Carnie’s daily life as a weight-obsessed game show host, singer/songwriter, wife to hubby Rob Bonfiglio, and mom to daughters Lola and Luci.
Carnie is currently putting down vocals on a Wilson-Phillips Christmas album.
