We’ve had lots of fun hearing about Carrie Ann Inaba‘s stunning Dancing with the Stars ensembles, and today, in her final post, the judge gives us the exclusive details on what she wore Monday night – a dress worthy of the show’s finale:
Congratulations to our terrific trio of ladies who made it to the finals: Kelly Monaco, Melissa Rycroft and Shawn Johnson! And here’s to their amazing partners, who taught them everything they needed to come so far: Val Chmerkovskiy, Derek Hough and Tony Dovolani.
Monday night was the finals of finals. It was a night of fabulous female energy and I wanted to wear something that celebrated femininity. I chose an Anne Barge gown (for those of you looking for your special wedding dress, she makes beautiful wedding gowns, as well).
The jewels were really special, and we went with one of my favorite jewelry designers, Erica Courtney. The bracelet was 50 carats of Zultanite and 3.10 carats of diamonds set in gold, silver and brass (retail: $ 63,000!). It’s from the exquisite line Lance Fischer, and I received quite a few compliments on it. One audience member wanted to buy it off my wrist! That hasn’t happened before.
The S.K.O.W shoes I chose and wanted to “borrow” forever were awesome. Want super-cool platform heels? These are them. Not for an ordinary situation, these shoes are for stylish divas only! They make a statement and a half. Their designs are always ultra-cool and hip.
I first became a fan of these shoes when I wore a pair while co-hosting Live with Kelly over the summer. Kelly Ripa is also a shoe fanatic and our guest was Salma Hayek, who also loves great shoes, and we chatted away about our heels during the commercial break. They both fell in love with my S.K.O.W platforms. So I wore another fantastic pair Monday night under my bridal/evening gown … but sadly you never got to see them.
We did an easy “middle comb” ‘do for hair, creating easy waves and just quite a simple and feminine structure — not a lot of spray and not a lot of product. For makeup, we did a dark lip and darker brows. No liner under my eyes, but we did use a darker rust lip liner for my lips; we lined and filled with the liner and let my lips be the highlight. And of course, we finished with the “Body Bling” lotion by Scott Barnes, which completes any look on Dancing with the Stars.
Since this is my last blog of the season, I want to thank People.com. And I wanted to thank Joanne McCarthy, Anna Maria Orzano and Kit Scarbo, my glam squad. Without them, I’d be lost and in my flip-flops and maxi dresses (my daytime uniform). I love playing dress-up with them and wearing these fantastic designer dresses and jewels. The glamour of Dancing with the Stars is something everyone should have access to. It’s fun to be a princess for a day — every woman should have that experience. So, until next season, Aloha! Bling bling!
