Country star Carrie Underwood has launched a relief fund to aid the victims left homeless by the floods in Nashville, Tennessee. Using the grants she received as the reigning Academy of Country Music (ACM) Entertainer of the Year, the “Temporary Home” crooner is launching the Temporary Home Fund in cooperation with ACM Lifting Lives organization to help flood victims.
The Southern city has been left devastated by severe storms, which ruined several state landmarks and homes — including a mansion belonging to country superstar Kenny Chesney — earlier this month. The subsequent floods left much of country-western’s hometown underwater, claiming the lives of over 20 people and left thousands homeless.
Fans are invited to donate $10 to the effort by texting “ACM” to 501051. Donations also can be made at www.ACMliftinglives.org and www.CBS.com/give.
