Just days after the sometimes-estranged dad of pop tart Rihanna told Britain’s The Sun that he’s forgiven Chris Brown for going all “Whoop Dat Trick!” on his famous daughter two years ago, the singer herself has given the hat tip for a five year restraining order barring Brown from coming within 500 yards of her to be reduced.
The Barbadian’s lawyer, Donald Etra, said Rihanna, now 22, has requested the order be reduced to a level one — which means the two can have contact as long as Brown doesn’t annoy, molest, or harass her, E! Online said Thursday. Last month, attorney for the once clean-cut R&B heartthrob petitioned a court to have the order reduced, paving the way for Brown to attend prize-givings, like the Grammys, where he and Rihanna could be contenders.
In June 2009, Brown, pleaded guilty to assault and accepted a plea deal that included community service, five years’ probation, and anger management classes.
