Bravo is cleaning Housewives. The Garden State is a haven for “prostitution whores” no longer, the reality-favored network announced on Monday.

Danielle Staub — the acid-tongued villainess on The Real Housewives of New Jersey — will not be back for a third season of firestarting on the ratings-winning cable docu-soap. Throughout the tumultuous second season, Staub enraged Caroline Manzo, her sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita, and family friend Teresa Giudice with her onscreen antics and past as a drug-addicted extortionist.

“The reunion was Danielle’s last appearance on The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” said Andy Cohen, Bravo’s Senior Vice-President of Original Programming and Development, who also hosts The Real Housewives reunion shows and Watch What Happens: Live.

“We thought the hugs were a great way to end two seasons of bitterness between the women. The reunion was Danielle’s last appearance on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. We thought the hugs were a great way to end two seasons of bitterness between the women.”

Rumors that Staub had been axed by Bravo began circulating last month when Life & Style snoops spilled that network honchos were trimming the fat on the Garden State installment of the flagship series. At the time, the mother of two assured her Twitter followers that she was “not even thinking” about a third season and was instead focusing on other “incredible options” that she had been offered.

So what do life after Housewives look like Danielle Staub? Staub is said to be shopping a “spinoff” reality show.
