David & Victoria Beckham Slash Staff

Signs o’ the Times: David and Victoria Beckham have axed more than a dozen staffers from their homes in England, Los Angeles, Dubai, and France to save money.

The Beckhams have trimmed their staff of 50 employees down to just 14 after their accountant warned: “You’re pouring money down the drain,” London’s The Sun reported on Friday.

The couple – who are worth more than $200 million– were reportedly advised by financial experts to sack a third of their employees — including six out of seven gardeners at a huge estate they own in France — because they were “wasting” money on an extravagant lifestyle filled with Louboutins and Birkin bags in an age when most people are tightening their purse strings.

In fact, only this week, English tabloids revealed that David’s older sister and her three children are depending of government benefits to survive.

“This very no-nonsense accountant gave it to Victoria straight and said, ‘You can afford to employ all of these people. But why the hell do you?’” squeals one source close to the couple. “David and Victoria are multi-millionaires, but that doesn’t mean they have to waste money – and they were hemorrhaging it.”

The Beckhams massive staff includes personal assistants, chefs, cleaners, gardeners, builders, nannies, and property agents.
