Did You Know Rapunzel From ‘Tangled’ is Hidden in ‘Frozen’?
Pixar has all kinds of Easter eggs hidden throughout their movies. At this point most movie nerds know that the Pizza Planet truck makes an appearance in every Pixar movie, or that toys for A Bug’s Life are seen on the shelves of Al’s Toy Barn in Toy Story 2. But Pixar is no longer the only game in town when it comes to fantastic, CG-animated films. Disney Animation Studios has been really upping their game lately, and not only are they making great movies, but they’re also taking a page out of Pixar’s Easter egg playbook.
Frozen has only been in theaters for two weeks, so people have hardly had the proper time to find all these goodies on their own. But that’s where Disney’s official blog comes in to show us a few, the biggest being Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, the happy-ever-after couple from Tangled, attending the new Queen’s coronation. That’s them in the bottom left of the above screenshot entering the castle at Arendelle.
Some of the other references being discovered are a bit more obscure, but we’ll play along. For example, if you look at the bookshelf here, there’s a tiny Mickey Mouse hidden on the shelf. How anyone could be expected to spot him on their own we’ll never know, but he is indeed there.
And then there’s the sweets on the table that Anna (Kristen Bell) eats. They look like fancy chocolates to us, but Disney says they’re a reference to the land of Sugar Rush from Wreck-It Ralph. That’s fine, but we’re actually a bit weirded out about why the bust Anna is looking at looks exactly like Travis Van Winkle from the Friday the 13th remake. Seriously, the resemblance is kind of freaky.
