Real estate mogul-turned-reality TV star Donald Trump rejected the idea of including Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan as a contestant on the upcoming season of NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.
Lohan — who turned down an opportunity to hoof it on ABC’s ballroom smash Dancing With The Stars — had appealed to The Donald about appearing as part of the new Apprentice lineup, which kicks off in March, in a bid to rebuild her public image after spending the better part of 2010 in rehab and the tabloids. Trump, however, thinks Lohan needs more time to sort out her personal life before stepping back into the limelight.
“(The Lohans) approached me, and we did talk about it. It’s just not the right time,” Trump spilled on the pages of the Jan. 24 issue of Life & Style Magazine. “Lindsay has to straighten herself out first… It could happen in the future, but right now we need to see Lindsay get straightened out,” he added.
Trump revealed the 16 stars who will compete on the next season of Celebrity Apprentice during Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last Thursday.
Take a peek at the lineup: Hope Dworaczyk, La Toya Jackson, Star Jones, NeNe Leakes, Marlee Matlin, Lisa Rinna, Niki Taylor, Dionne Warwick, Gary Busey, Jose Canseco, David Cassidy, Richard Hatch, Lil Jon, Meatloaf, Mark McGrath, John Rich.
