Double Time Oscar Winner to Compose Music for Kiran

Amir Khan’s wife, Kiran Rao is set to mark with her debut in Bollywood with a big bang. News is that she has persuaded twice Oscar winning Gustavo Santaolalla to compose songs for her debut directorial venture. The shooting of the movie “Dhobi Ghat” is almost nearing end and is slated to hit the screens around the end of this year. The film will star hubby Amir Khan and Prateik Babbar among others.

The Oscar winning musician was in India for the past few days when Kiran narrated the story of her film to him. And when she asked the musician to pay her a visit in Mumbai, Gustavo agreed. Kiran was apparently successful in her venture of roping the musician in for her movie, when Gustavo visited Mumbai.

The film “Dhobi Ghat”, in which Amir plays the lead role tells the story of a gifted painter who works in adverse conditions relentlessly.

The famous composer Gustavo Santaolalla has given music to critically acclaimed films like “Brokeback Mountain”, “Babel”, “Motorcycle Diaries” and “Amores Perros” and he bagged the Oscars for the first two films.
