English Football Squad along with David Beckham to Arrive in South Africa

In order to be prepared for the 2010 World Cup bid footballers of England have already arrived in South Africa.

In order to be prepared for the 2010 World Cup bid footballers of England have already arrived in South Africa.

Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, as well as the rest of the squad arrived OR Tambo Airport of Johannesburg. The flight lasted 11 hours from London.

Along with the squad, there was a special guest, i.e. David Beckham. As a matter of fact, he can not participate in the event because of the injury. He has come in order to support his squad as well as part of manager Fabio Capello’s backroom team.

After the arrival, the squad headed to their training base that is situated at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus in Rustenburg.

When they arrived, local schoolchildren greeted the footballers by performing a group dance. Nine days are left before their first match. They will be dedicated for training. The squad will be playing against the USA. The match will be held on June 12.

The committee that will be looking to bring the tournament to the US, involves governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, film director Spike Lee as well as former president Bill Clinton. As for Brad Pitt he is going to put his name behind the bid of the USA.
