Six years after becoming rock ‘n roll royalty, the hitmaking music group Paramore is losing two of its founding members.

On Sunday, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis, and guitarist Taylor York announced that guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro have left the band. The Farro Brothers let their bandmates know a few months ago that they would be leaving the group before the end of the year, according to a statement uploaded to Paramore’s Official Website this afternoon.

“A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac [Farro] let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked,” the blog posting stated.

The remaining members admit that their rise to fame has not been “without trial” and say that “for the last year it hasn’t seemed as if [Josh and Zac] wanted to be around anymore.”

The post also slammed previous Internet chatter about an impending breakup of the group and notes that the remaining members intend to continue with the band.

“We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn’t here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere, but we never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together.”
