Kevin Eubanks, former bandleader and music director for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, is returning to the show for the first time in the six months since his departure.
The guitarist has been booked to perform on Leno next Tuesday, Nov. 23. That’s the same day he drops his new CD, Zen Food, on Mack Avenue Records. In September, Mack announced that they’d signed Eubanks for a new record deal and would distribute his first disc since 2006’s Soweto Sun.
Eubanks left the chat show in May after 18 years. At the time, he said he was looking forward to getting to “play past the commercial.”
Joining Kevin on his new album and return to the show are Tonight Show Band alums drummer Marvin “Smitty” Smith and keyboardist Gerry Etkins.
