Gary Coleman is keeping his address on Avenue Q. The off-Broadway play that features a character based on the former Diff’rent Strokes actor is planning to keep that character, despite the troubled star’s death of a brain hemorrhage in Utah last Friday.
Avenue Q, which features both humans and puppets, is a show about twentysomethings living in the Big Apple. It has won three Tony Awards, Best Musical in 2004.
The Coleman character — a child star who now works as a building superintendent — is played by Danielle Thomas. The creative team behind the play has decided to make only small tweaks to the role in light of Gary’s passing.
