Ghost Rider Roars To TV, King Kong Gets Bigger, And More News You Might Have Missed From Comic-…

The first two days of Comic-Con International are behind us now, and there’s been plenty of news coming out of San Diego so far.

Yesterday, we put together a list of announcements, previews, and other news that might have slipped under your radar from the first day of the show, and now we’re doing the same for Day Two.

There’s a lot going on in San Diego right now, and here’s a taste of it:

Ghost Rider joins Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

It’s been hinted at for a while now, but it finally became official at Comic-Con: Marvel’s Ghost Rider is making the leap from the big screen to television. During a Friday panel, Marvel announced that the Spirit of Vengeance will be introduced in the upcoming fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (effectively bringing him into Marvel’s cinematic universe), and confirmed that it will be the more recent, Robby Reyes version of the character – the iteration that drives a car instead of a motorcycle. Wicked City and Matador actor Gabriel Luna will play Ghost Rider in the series. Along with releasing a fiery teaser for Ghost Rider’s small-screen debut, the character’s car was revealed on the show floor.

Batman and Batgirl get … close … in The Killing Joke

The animated adaptation of the controversial Batman story The Killing Joke had its world premiere at Comic-Con, and the movie might end up being even more controversial than the source material, thanks to one particular narrative decision. Instead of Batman being Batgirl’s mentor in the movie (as he was in the original story), the pair have a relationship that, well… apparently involves quite a bit of “sexy time.” Needless to say, the change has generated quite a bit of discussion among fans.

Another look at the Suicide Squad

With the premiere of Suicide Squad right around the corner, Entertainment Tonight released a new video featurette created for Comic-Con that provides more backstory on the film’s supervillain stars and also includes some new footage from the film.
