‘Gotham’: Jim Gordon’s war with Don Falcone is nowhere near over
Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is safe on “Gotham!” At least, he’s safe for now. After taking out a hit on him, Carmine Falcone (John Doman) has had a change of heart, calling off Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan). So all must be good between the retired crime boss and the man who killed his son, right?
Not quite.
While “Gotham” has seemingly put the tensions between Gordon and Falcone on the backburner for now — making way for the resurrection of Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) — the matter is anything but settles between the two.

“We play that [feud] in two different ways. We play it very directly and heavy in the first episode when we come back with the storyline between Jim and Falcone,” executive producer John Stephens says. “The repercussions of the killing of Mario actually are through the end of the year.”

That means once “Gotham” comes back from hiatus, after the three-episode arc dealing with Jerome, it’s going to be bad news for Jim. While Lee (Morena Baccarin) may have saved him this time, there’s really no stopping a mafia don trying to avenge his son, right?
Still, while vengeance will be dealt out, Gordon can’t be killed. He’s not only the star of the show but a critical piece of Batman mythology. We don’t know exactly what the outcome will be, but Stephens promises — threatens? — that “it’s going to be sad.”
“Gotham” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
