Gowariker ends shoot on patriotic note

Bollywood director, Ashutosh Gowariker, recently finished the last shoot on his latest film, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. On this day, director requested the entire staff to celebrate the spirit of patriotism by wearing white shirts and blue trousers.

The film producer, Sunita Gowariker said to the News daily that the idea to dress in white and blue was given by Ashutosh. She said that white stands for peace and purity and is also the color of Vande Mataram, and the Ashok Chakra on the flag is represented by the color blue. The team wanted to make this symbolic gesture because the subject of the film is the freedom movement. It was a nice surprise for them when everyone arrived at the party dressed in those colors & was supportive for the concept of party.

Abhishek and Deepika, the lead stars, were not able to make it to the event, but they sent their best wishes to everyone in the team. According to Sunita, Deepika was involved in the shooting of the movie, ‘Break Ke Baad’ while Abhishek had flown to Turkey. Sunita added that it they didn’t expect everyone and it was just a small affair.

It took 124 days for Gowraiker to finish the shooting for ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, thereby making a new record that successfully beats the record set by his previous film, ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, according to news reports. Sunita says that they wanted to complete the film at the earliest because it was necessary to maintain the continuity. As it was a period film, they did not want the actors and supporting actors to look different over time.
