‘How to Get Away With Murder’: Where did we leave off?

After having to wait a whole extra week for the winter premiere of “How to Get Away with Murder,” it’s finally time to pick up where the story left off — and find out what happened during the hours leading up to “Fire Night.”

We figured it was also probably time to get a roll call for where all these characters are at, and where they’re likely headed in the final stretch of Season 3.

With only six episodes left in the season (curse Viola Davis and how outrageously in-demand she is on the Hollywood movie scene!) there’s a lot of story left to tell, in not a lot of time. Be sure you’re up to date by taking a look at the quick refresher course below.

Wes — dead

Yeah, poor Wes (Alfred Enoch) was #underthesheet, burned to a bloody crisp. We’re not quite over the tragedy of his death, but showrunner Pete Nowalk assures us we’ll be getting some flashbacks to happier times, as the gang remembers some of their less gruesome memories of Wes. We’ve also still got to figure out the mystery of who killed him, and what went down during the hours after he left the police station.

Annalise — arrested

We’re about 900% sure that Annalise (Viola Davis) didn’t kill Wes, but nonetheless she’s been implicated in his murder — and probably several more, depending on what Wes told the police when he agreed to testify against her. Given how bloody her hands actually are, we’re not sure how Annalise can talk herself out of this one.

Frank & Laurel — it’s complicated

This ship might be officially sunk, given that Laurel (Karla Souza) is hospitalized and pregnant with Wes’ unborn child, and Frank (Charlie Weber) is a seriously likely suspect in his murder. We never really got a good picture of where Frank was when the murder went down, and we’re curious to see what kind of alibi he cooks up.

Michaela & Asher — mama drama

After inviting Michaela’s (Aja Naomi King) mother to town against her wishes, Asher (Matt McGorry) is in hot water with his girlfriend. That all takes a backseat to the news that Wes has been killed, however, and we’re hoping these two will lean on each other in the mournful days to come.

Connor — on the verge of a breakdown

We love that Connor’s emotions are always so close to the surface, because it always results in such explosive scenes for him. Unfortunately, now that he’s broken up with Oliver, slept with Oliver’s ex and lost Wes all in one week, he might be on the verge of a serious breakdown.

Oliver — decidedly suspicious

Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) didn’t ask any questions when Annalise asked him to wipe her phone on “Fire Night,” but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have lots of lingering doubts. Now that Connor (Jack Falahee) has let it slip he was traumatized the night Sam (Tom Verica) went missing, Connor is more suspicious about his boyfriend’s extracurricular activities than ever.

Bonnie — literally the only one with her stuff together

Bonnie (Liza Weil) is going to be so clutch in the days to come, as the only one able to keep her head on her shoulders while everything else is falling apart. With Frank practically suicidal, the Keating 5 knocked down to 4, and Annalise in desperate need of a lawyer who can get these charges dismissed, we feel like Bonnie’s going to be the only safe port in a storm.

“How to Get Away with Murder” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
