Idina Menzel Engaged to Boyfriend Aaron Lohr: ''We Are So Happy''

As Idina Menzel is well aware, love is an open door. And that door led straight to an engagement.

The Frozen star announced today that she and boyfriend Aaron Lohr are engaged! “What an incredible week. Thank you to everyone for all your support with the album,” she first tweeted, and then followed up with, “As if this week couldn’t get any better I have wonderful news… my man and I are engaged! We are so happy. It’s a beautiful time.”

No other details on the proposal (or a photo of her diamond) have been revealed just yet.

Menzel and Lohr have kept their relationship pretty private considering her public status, and made their first debut in a big way. Menzel, 45, and Lohr, 40, made their first red carpet appearance together at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C., in April 2015.

And while their romance is somewhat new, these two have known each other forever. The pair actually costarred in the 2005 film adaptation of the Broadway hit Rent together.

Menzel was previously married to actor Taye Diggs, who she’d also met on the set of Rent. The two met in the ’90s on the set of the Broadway musical and reprised their roles of Maureen and Benny in the 2005 movie adaptation.

The former couple, who have one son together, Walker Nathaniel, announced their separation in December 2013. Their divorce was finalized roughly a year later.
