Intel India and BSNL together brings broadband to rural areas in India

Intel India, the leading Software manufacturer and BSNL, the ace telecom services provider today have joined their hands to make computers and broadband accessible to the rural masses.
‘Meri Manzil Mera Pehela Kadam’ from Intel and BSNL would cover most of the rural areas in India in the next few months.
The Intel statement said, “This program will cover the entire spectrum of connectivity solutions from BSNL and range of devices based on Intel processors including the Intel Atom Processor based Netbooks and Nettops.”
“Intel believes that the WiMax broadband technology can help bridge the digital divide in India and is certain that with this initiative we will make it easy for people to own their first PC and explore the internet thereby bringing about a positive change in their lives,” said the Intel South Asia Managing Director Sales and Marketing Group R Sivakumar.
On the other hand, BSNL Director R K Aggarwal revealed, “We are working closely with Intel to accelerate WiMAX broadband connectivity across the country with a motive to bridge digital divide and extend the advantages of technology to the millions of Indians.”
