Emmy-winning actress Jane Lynch, who nabbed a Golden Globe nomination this week, will lend her voice to an animated character on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons, Entertainment Weekly reported Tuesday.
Lynch is best known for her role as sharp-tongued cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on Glee. Since landing the celebrated role on the smash TV comedy-musical, Lynch, 50, has made a guest appearance on Nickelodeon’s teen comedy iCarly and hosted an October episode of Saturday Night Live.
Jane will join the Sunday night sitcom as Roz, an assistant to Homer Simpson in his job at the local power plant, on an episode airing in 2011, says Simpsons executive producer Al Jean.
“This woman seems terrifically nice, but then it turns out she’s just completely undermining him every step of the way and gets his job — until he can discover her one weakness with the help of Ned Flanders.”
