Newly-engaged future billionairess Jessica Simpson has asked fiance Eric Johnson to sign a prenuptial agreement after realizing it was the best decision.

Simpson may be better known for her ditzy moments, yo-yoing weight and tumultuous love life, but who knew she was also a billion-dollar business woman?

The singer has quietly been building a clothing empire and after initially balking at the idea of having former footballer Eric Johnson sign a prenup, Jessica is having documents drawn up to protect her fortune. According to fashion bible Women’s Wear Daily, the Jessica Simpson Collection — which includes a stylish line of footwear, swimwear, denim, handbags, and accessories — netted $750 million in sales this year and that figure is set to surge to $1 billion by early next year.

The couple – who announced their engagement in November after just six months of dating – have been
discussing their options and will agree to a legal deal over their assets before they tie the knot. Slamming reports that Johnson is a “golddigger” after Simpson’s fortune, a source close to couple tells Us Magazine that the lovers will definitely go for a prenup.

Simpson, 25, forked over an estimated $5 million of her fortune when she divorced singer Nick Lachey nearly five years ago. They former couple wed without a prenup.

“There will definitely be a prenup. Jessica has said she wants one. Jessica and Eric have talked about it. Eric understands that there needs to be a prenup. He’s supportive of it,” according to a squeal with ties to Jess. “He really loves her. He’s a low-key guy. He’s not into the glitz and materialism of Hollywood at all.”
