Singer Jessica Simpson’s visit with troops aboard the USS Harry S. Truman did not go very well after she fell ill and threw up.
Sources revealed that 30-year-old Simpson’s October 1 visit to the Persian Gulf had not started off on a steady footing.
“She flew in on a helicopter and had three Red Bulls with no water. Then she complained it was too hot out,” Us magazine quoted a source as a revealing.
The temperature that day in nearby Doha, Qatar was 97 degrees, and things got worse when after eating, Simpson attempted to perform for the sailors.
“She only sang one song, then vomited,” the source said.
A source close to the singer said that she had not been well but still decided to perform.
“She was dehydrated and got sick before she performed — and even got an IV. The doctor told her not to sing, but she did anyway,” the source added.
Upon her return to the States, Simpson Tweeted her thoughts on the trip.
“Feel so humbled by the sacrifice the troops and their families make to keep us safe. I’m forever changed after this last week. Thank you!” she wrote.
