Katy Perry has been offered $340,000-a-week to join music mogul Simon Cowell as a judge on the US version of ITV’s The X Factor when the show premieres in 2011.
TV industry tattles telll The Daily Mirror that Cowell was so impressed by the “Teenage Dream” singer’s no-holds barred-style during her stint as a guest judge at the Dublin auditions on the UK program, he wants her to be the first name added to the panel when the talent show moves Stateside.
The 25-year-old pop tart, who is marrying British comedian Russell Brand later this year, oozed her bubbly persona on the hot seat and clearly enjoyed herself as she told a pal she wants to build a TV career in England, according to The Mirror.
“Katy was thrilled, especially by the package which is said to be a $340,000-a-show deal,” squeals a spy. “Simon wants to get the judging names signed, sealed and announced within six weeks. He wants at least one massive American star, someone who is known globally, plus one Brit and at least one authoritative male.”
