Senator Keith Olbermann?
An online campaign calling for former MSNBC political pundit Keith Olbermann to take over Joe Lieberman’s soon-to-be vacated Connecticut Senate seat is gaining momentum on the Interwebs.
On Friday, Olbermann abruptly quit his popular cable series, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, just a month after he was briefly suspended for making political contributions. Politicos behind Facebook and Twitter pages called “Draft Olbermann for Senate” believe Olbermann is “just old enough, smart enough, polished enough, and has all of the other attributes that would make him a darned good senator for the state of Connecticut.”
Never one to mince words, Keith has yet to respond to the campaign.
Lieberman, a former Democratic vice-presidential nominee, announced last week he would not seek a fifth term in the Senate. A number of Democrat and GOP candidates are vying to succeed the veteran lawmaker, who became an independent in 2006.
Reckon you’ll vote for Olbermann?
